Jahno is proud to present here the result of 3 years of reggae and dub production. Never totally attracted by new production style and sound fashion, JAHNO deliver here a tasty oldskool jamaican reggae dub hot soundin music. And the man know how to do it with respect of the musical culture, and yet adding slight "modern recording technics production" like midi. The result is an higly savourous blend of reggae and dub style, a strong but delicate sound dedicated to Tickle your ears.
Dub mixin is always done in one live pass, no re-recording or over-dubbin, Jahno dub style take his roots to the greatest ever dub studio "King Tubby's studio". You can hear it by the choice of spring reverb, tape delay, tone modulation and filters wich are quite common and sometimes redundant in dub. But don't take me wrong those effects are put on tracks with manipulation done in the right tempo... That's why Jahno love to say "mix it in rythm like if u played an instrument". Like each dub engineer at Tubby's used to ave his own sound effect setting and fader's ridin style, jahno develloped his own effects chain and settings combinate with some wild live faders and potentiometers ridin.
Musicaly speaking u will find in this album some already well known riddims totally re-arranged and re-interpreted but also some creation riddim from the man. All instruments are played by Jahno and recorded in his tiny 4 tracks studio facilities called "Number One Foundation Studio's" the typical Jahno sound comes also from pushin to overbound some low/mid grade quality studiogear. As in jamaica 35 years before him where they made and record music with the availble and affordable gear of the time. All tracks contains live drummin and percussions, keys and bass are live recorded to an atari midi sequencer and processed later. Never dry of idea Jahno have to record riddim ONLY when he got the time, like everyone on god earth he got to make money to eat and live ...
